Math teachers! I have found a great website for helping you in the classroom. The following link: http://www.math.com/teachers.html, is a great website to add to your favorites. They offer worksheet generators to create and print your worksheets for class. There are links to math standards in order to make sure you are meeting them. There is a large amount of reference tables to pass out to your class for different subjects, as well as a problem of the week section. The best part of this website is the help that it offers for lesson plans. When you click on the lesson plans link, you will be directed to a page with 12 or so different lesson plan websites. There are lesson plans submitted by teachers all over the United States, and there are even specialized lesson plans that use census data or take advantage of internet resources. You can also search for lesson plans by age group. The point is: there is a whole lot of lesson plans to view and take ideas from.

But that is not all! From the main page there is a link called reference sources. Under this heading you can find a link to dictionaries for math words, a math history link, a formulas link, as well as calculators and converters. All of these can be good links to share with your students. Students can also go to the recreational link on the main page and see links to puzzles as well as student pages, which are designed to spark student interest in the “cool” side of math. Students can also go to the math.com homepage and take advantage of all the resources that it offers too.

Math.com for teachers is just one more example of an online resource that can be used to enhance our students’ learning. The best part about this website is that it is free. There are many more online resources out there for teachers and students; all you have to do is look!

Free math practice! I have given you a link below to a website that offers free worksheets, printable tables and charts, and many other resources. Just follow this link: http://www.helpingwithmath.com/, and get started right away. When you first view the page you can choose to find your resource by subject or by grade. Let’s say that you need help with your decimals. You can click on subjects, or scroll down the opening page and view the subjects. You can then click on the decimals link, and you will have access to printable decimal worksheets, as well as illustrated guidance for multiplying, dividing, adding and subtracting decimals. It evens offers help with conversions. Helpingwithmath.com is a great website that can be used by students, parents and teachers. Please check out the videos I posted, they are awesome. The first video is called Kids Science and is a great example of how fun learning can be for children if we as teachers present it the right way. I think we found the next Bill Nye! The second video is the lava volcano experiment. I chose this experiment because I remember it being the first experiment I ever tried on my own. The look on this kids face is classic! That’s all I get after all that work?
